Milton, ON – Attack Racing athletes took to the boards this past weekend at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre for Track Ontario Cup #3, delivering strong performances against some of the province’s best track cyclists. With a focus on development and high-performance racing, the team once again demonstrated their growing depth and competitiveness across multiple events.

Building on a season of consistent progress, the Attack Racing squad displayed determination, tactical awareness, and speed in the endurance and sprint disciplines. Athletes competed in a range of events, including the Scratch Race, Team Sprint, Elimination Race, the Longest Lap competition, Tempo Race, Team Pursuit, and Points Race, highlighting their versatility and teamwork.

The event marked Izzy Downing’s first full Track Ontario Cup, where she delivered an outstanding performance, earning a podium finish in every individual event. Her highlight was a nail-biting Points Race, where she demonstrated exceptional racecraft and endurance in a very close Category C finish.

The U17/U15 squad of Ethan, Ben, Matt, Tomas, and Santiago made a significant leap by upgrading to the Open Category C. Their training efforts paid off as they walked away with a combined total of 12 medals, showcasing their rapid progression and ability to compete at a higher level.

Santiago and Harry combined for a further 6 medals in Category E, but the event’s true stars were the youngest Attack athletes. Maelle, Kellen, Isaac, Kinsley, Breeze, Vienna, and Paul shone in Categories F and G, securing an incredible 19 medals.

For many athletes, this event provided the opportunity to experience team events on the track for the first time. By participating in these unique events, they were able to learn and grow, gaining valuable race experience and developing key teamwork skills.

“Our athletes continue to show impressive growth in both skill and race execution,” said Andrew, Attack Racing’s Program Director. “This event was another step forward in our development pathway, providing valuable experience in a high-intensity racing environment.”

The dedication of both athletes and coaches was evident throughout the weekend, with disciplined race strategies and strong individual efforts leading to notable results. The weekend saw tremendous growth from all our athletes, with countless personal bests being set throughout the events. Kudos to the athletes, their parents and the coaching staff for turning progress into tangible results.

As the season progresses, Attack Racing remains committed to fostering youth talent and preparing athletes for future high-level competitions. With each Ontario Cup event, the team continues to refine their racing skills and build momentum for the upcoming provincial and national track championships.
