Attack Racing Excels at Track Ontario Cup #2, Secures Multiple Podiums
London, Ontario – January 21, 2025
Attack Racing left an indelible mark at the Track Ontario Cup #2, held January 18–19 at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre. Competing across Sprint, Chariot, Scratch, Elimination, Keirin, Madison, and Individual Pursuit/Time Trial events, every team member contributed to a weekend filled with podium finishes and outstanding performances.
Event Results
Sprint
- Tomas Liska-Gardiner claimed bronze in the upgraded Cat C/D Sprint Final with two decisive victories in the bronze-medal rounds.
- Benjamin Buczkowski, Matt Hodgins, Ethan Lambourn, Harry Langford and West MacKay-Changon delivered commendable efforts in their respective sprint qualifiers, showcasing strong fast legs!
Chariot
- Kellen Burton took gold in the Cat G Chariot Final, with teammate Vienna Biskaborn securing silver in a final 200m that averaged over 51kph!
- Santiago Leal Quinones earned bronze in the Cat F Chariot Final, with Paul Ciesla placing fifth and Isaac Aston competing with great effort.
- Breeze Biskaborn, Kinsley Biskaborn, Izzy Downing and Maelle Burton all competed fiercely in their categories, adding depth to the team’s success.
Individual Pursuit
- Tomas Liska-Gardiner and Santiago Barahona Forero finished first and third in Cat E, despite some last-minute equipment adjustments.
- For many athletes, this was the first attempt at this event outside of practice sessions. Kudos to Ethan, Harry, Izzy, Santi and West for enduring such a challenging event!
- Coach Mark held on for a better-than-expected finish in Cat B
Time Trial
- Vienna took the gold in the 500m Time Trial, with Kellen (silver), Santiago Leal Quinones (silver) and Maelle (bronze) filling out the podiums in their respective categories.
Scratch Race
- Kellen and Vienna put up a great fight in Cat G, resulting in a bronze for Kellen.
- Santiago won gold in Cat F, after a photo-finish, while Maelle, Breeze, Isaac, Kinsley and Paul animated the race.
- Tomas and Ethan went 1-2 in Cat E, in a speedy 4km scratch race. Ben, Harry, Matt and Santi displayed grit in the tactical race and all finished strong.
- West and Mark combined in Cat C/D, with Mark working his way into many breakaway attempts. They were eventually swallowed up by a field sprint, finishing in the middle of the pack.
Elimination Race
- Kellen and Vienna again combined on the podium, finishing with gold and bronze respectively in Cat G
- Santiago suffered a mishap in the final 200 meters of the elimination race, having to settle for silver in Cat G, while Breeze, Maelle, Paul and Isaac continued to adapt their strengths to this event.
- Tomas and Ethan showed their strength again, finishing with gold and bronze in a highly tactical race. Matt, Ben, Santi and Harry learned tough lessons in a fierce field.
- West snuck through many elimination rounds in a long Cat C/D race finishing in the middle of the rankings.
Keirin
- Sprinting on a new front wheel, Santiago was victorious in the Cat F Keirin, taking home the gold.
- The Cat E final was stacked, with Tomas, Ethan, Ben and Matt representing Attack. Tomas and Ethan took the top two steps with Ben and Matt close behind but just off the podium.
- West took the long way around to finishing 7th overall but he found a knack for the tactics of the Keirin after a few rounds.
Madison
- Attack Racing teams, including Ben Buczkowski, Ethan Lambourn and Tomas Liska-Gardiner, demonstrated remarkable teamwork and endurance in the Madison events.
- Tomas and his partner finished first overall in the combined Cat C/D, while Ethan and Ben suffered an unfortunate mechanical incident but still finished the race in 4th place.

The team would like to extend thanks and appreciation to the parents, coaches, officials and volunteers who made the past weekend so successful. Competitions like these would not be possible without all of your support!
Looking Ahead
With momentum from Ontario Cup Track #2, the team is now preparing for the next phase of their season, including:
- Track Ontario Cup #3 – February 8/9th
- Ontario Provincial Track Championships – February 28 – March 2
- Canadian Junior National Track Championships – April 4 – 6
